Los Angeles coach Mike Brown has been suspended one game without pay and fined $25,000 for making contact with a game official and failure to leave the court in a timely manner following his ejection in Saturday's game. The NBA announced the suspension Monday. Brown will miss Monday's game in Philadelphia against the 76ers.

Mike Brown tried to shake the Lakers up in a good way, but it didn't work. The first-year Lakers coach was ejected with 8:35 to play in what wound up a 96-87 Lakers loss in Utah on Saturday night. At the time, the Lakers trailed, 74-68, and Brown was upset no foul was called on Utah guard Earl Watson as he stole the ball from Lakers forward Pau Gasol. Brown might be suspended by the NBA for the way he bumped into referee Zach Zarba, but Brown said he hoped his actions would spark the Lakers. Instead, the Lakers kept sliding and wound up being outscored to start the fourth, 16-1. "I was trying to give our guys some juice," Brown said. "I got techs; I shouldn't have gotten two techs.
